EIT’S HIGHER EDUCATION INITIATIVE SELECTS SIX PROJECTS WITH PORTUGUESE PARTICIPATION

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) announced the 23 projects selected for the pilot implementation phase under the Higher Education Initiative.Six of the projects have Portuguese participation and three are led by national bodies.

Projects selected for the pilot phase of the Higher Education Initiativewill have access to financial support, coaching and EIT’s innovation network. This initiative seeks to help Higher Education Institutions strengthen their capacity to promote and teach innovation and entrepreneurship, in order to increase impact on their ecosystems.

Among the selected projects, those led by national bodies are TANDEM+, by the University of Aveiro, INCORE, by the Instituto Superior Técnico with the participation of the University of Madeira and Trisolaris Advanced Technologiesand INVENTHEI, led by the University of Porto with the participation of UPTEC – University of Porto’s Science and Technology Park.

Also counting on Portuguese participation are the ETEIA consortium, with the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, the TRUE consortium, with the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, and the INNOUNITA consortium, with the University of Beira Interior.

Each project will receive a total of 400,000 euros for the implementation of this first phase, which takes place between July and December 2021.
