FCT promotes “Research and Resilience” session in Évora

Poster Session "Research and Resilience"

On February 4, the FCT will hold a session at the University of Évora on “Research and Resilience – Advanced Training and European Funding”. Registration is now open here.

The event will be attended by the Secretary of State for Science, Ana Paiva, and representatives of the European Commission, the People 2030 Program and COTEC Portugal will be speakers. PhD students and alumni will be invited to a round table discussion on “the contribution of European funding to a more qualified, resilient and innovative society” and there will be a presentation of the new funding opportunities for PhDs.

This event is being held within the framework of the Demography, Qualifications and Inclusion – People 2030 Thematic Program, which has allocated 160 million euros in funding for 3,300 Studentships doctoral degrees awarded by the FCT, corresponding to 85% of the total eligible investment of 188,235,294 euros.

This support, in line with the National Strategy for Intelligent Specialization 2030 (ENEI 2030) and the Regional Strategies for Intelligent Specialization (EREI), aims to help increase the number of PhD graduates in Portugal, with particular priority for their subsequent integration into the non-academic job market, namely in companies, interface centers and third sector entities, among others. More and better qualified resources will make it possible, in particular, to increase the export of products and services based on scientific and technological knowledge and creativity.

The event is free to attend, subject to prior registration. The detailed program will be available soon.
