Applications are now open for the Call for the Excellent Paper on Neuroscience Award 2023 (EPNA 2023), which aims to distinguish outstanding and exceptional scientific publications in the field of disease-related translational neuroscience. The initiative is aimed at early career researchers from 24 eligible countries, including Portugal.

This year’s award focuses on neurodevelopmental disorders, which can involve significant difficulties in specific intellectual, motor or social functions.

Individuals who are the first authors of original research articles published between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022 and are affiliated with eligible countries are eligible to apply. The best proposal will be awarded a prize of €3,000 and will be invited to participate as a speaker for “Excellent Paper in Neuroscience” speaker at the Forum of European Neuroscience 2024. ERA-NET NEURON will cover the prize and travel costs related to participation in the event.

ERA-NETS (European Research Area Networks) aim to promote cooperation between scientific research funding agencies, ministries and/or research institutes of the Member States and associated countries of the European Union, as well as third countries. FCT coordinates the national participation in this instrument.
