The National Center for Advanced Computing (CNCA) has opened a call for expressions of interest to all entities wishing to join this strategic innovation and supercomputing network as an associate. The deadline to apply is February 28, 2025. Joining the CNCA allows entities to benefit from an advanced high-performance computing ecosystem, with access to essential infrastructures and skills for research and development in various scientific and technological areas.

Information on the expression of interest is available on the website of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and those interested should formalize their intention by emailing cnca-questoes@incd.pt, indicating the entity and, whenever possible, the annual fee bracket desired, as stipulated in the CNCA statutes.

CNCA is the new entity that, with the support of FCT, through its digital services unit FCCN, aims to manage, frame, monitor and promote advanced computing activities and initiatives in Portugal, reinforcing support for science, technology and innovation and boosting the benefits of a more comprehensive ecosystem for the academic, scientific and business community. This new institutional structure is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, and is one of the actions included in measure RE-C05-i08 Ciência Mais Digital, contracted between the FCT and the Recovering Portugal Mission Structure.

The structuring of this initial group of members aims to facilitate the start-up of the CNCA and lay a solid foundation for its future development. Although this phase aims to bring together the initial group of members, future memberships will continue to be possible, ensuring its continued growth.
