FCT has updated the value of Studentships for 2025

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has updated the value of all research Studentships covered by the Research Studentships Regulation.
The update takes effect on January 1, 2025 and has already begun to be paid to those who benefit from a research Studentship directly contracted with the FCT. All the updates are expected to be made by the end of March this year, including the payment of retroactive amounts whenever they are due.
The evolution of the monthly maintenance allowances for all Studentships is determined annually by the FCT Board of Directors, taking into account the evolution of the minimum wage for each year. For 2025, the minimum wage has been set at 870 euros, corresponding to an increase of 50 euros over the previous year.
The FCT Board of Directors has decided to set the increase in Studentships in line with the nominal increase in the minimum wage, and has also determined that it will apply to those who receive Studentships corresponding to types provided for in previous regulations, and which are still in force.
The new table of research Studentships is now available for consultation.
