Public Consultation on Open Access Policy for FCT funded publications
The public consultation for a new Open Access policy is taking place until May 22nd. This policy results from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia’s (FCT) adherence to Plan S, promoted by cOAlition S, which states that all publications resulting from public funding of its members should be made available in open access journals or platforms.
Scientific progress depends to a large extent on the free flow of scientific research results. Open access to scientific publications contributes to achieving this result, and is necessary when publications result from public funding.
