Funding opportunities for R&D&I projects in the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS)
The Coal and Steel Research Fund (RFCS) co-finances research and innovation projects in the area of coal and steel.
– May 3 is the deadline for the submission of Big Tickets 2022 proposals
Demonstration and pilot projects in the stock market of 4-7 M€ (exceptionally up to 18 M€). Projects are expected to achieve high TRLs (eg at TRL 7-8) to support the EU steel industry in the green, digital and circular transition and to help transition bad regions in the coal sector.
In particular, the intended R&D areas are, for example: Reduction and management or capture of gases such as CO2, integration of processes in industry, mines and mining, advanced technologies, resource management, critical raw materials, alternative materials, treatment of waste, renewable energies, among other relevant topics.
– RFCS Annual Call September 2022
It is scheduled for September 2022 or the end of the annual RFCS call for proposals for R&D projects. This competition for the research component is the biggest face of the 2022 big ticket competition, with an expected TRL of 2-6, for projects worth around €2M.
