Call Exploratory Projects of the UTAustin Portugal Program

FCT has announced the provisional results of Call for Exploratory Projects under the UTAustin Portugal Program, with 8 projects being recommended for funding out of 37 eligible applications. The funding awarded to each project ranges from 19,400 to 50,000 euros, resulting in a total investment of 368,771.80 euros from the FCT budget.

Call aims to support research teams from non-corporate entities of the National Scientific and Technological System and the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) that work collaboratively on research activities in the main scientific areas of the UTAustin Portugal Program.

The projects recommended for funding are aimed at research into: 3D tumor models; self-assembling nanogels; intelligent tribological systems; 3D printing of nitrogen-rich nanoporous carbons; pyroelectrically generated electrons; self-powered nanomaterials; 2D photonic memristive devices; nano-activated polymeric ionic liquids.

The UTAustin Portugal Program is part of a network of international cooperation programs between Portugal and institutions in various countries under the goPORTUGAL initiative – Global Partnerships in Science and Technology, promoted by FCT.
