FCT releases the provisional results of the Institutional CEEC – Associate Laboratories

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) published today, March 7, the provisional results of the Call de Estímulo ao Emprego Científico – Institucional – (CEEC Institucional – Associate Laboratories). Were approved for funding 36 of 39 applications submitted by laboratories and assigned 120 contract positions for doctorates for a period of 6 years, corresponding to a total financial investment of 41.3 million euros.

The distribution of positions to be funded by type and level of contract was as follows: 43 contracts under D.L no. 57/2016, of August 29, for Junior Researcher (16) and Auxiliary Researcher (27); and 77 contracts for research career concluded without term or indefinite duration, in all categories. The contracts will result from recruitment and selection procedures opened by the beneficiary institutions

The CEECInst-LA aims to finance the hiring of doctorate holders by Associate Laboratories (LA), through financial support for scientific employment and career development plans, as part of the strategy to strengthen the critical mass needed to pursue specific objectives of national science and technology policy, and bearing in mind the scientific challenges framed in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is also intended to strengthen institutional cooperation network, in order to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the productive and social fabric, as well as strengthening the conditions for innovation. This call for proposals takes place under the Scientific Employment Regulation (REC), under the Calls institutional support for scientific employment.
