HERA European Network and CHANSE Programme open Transnational Call

The Humanities in the European Research Area (HERA) network and the Collaboration of Humanities and Social Sciences in Europe (CHANSE) program are promoting, until September 21, 2023 (14h00 CET), a Call for the submission of joint transnational proposals on the theme “Crises – Perspectives from the Humanities”.

Research projects can be developed around themes such as: the different understandings of crises; crises and human reaction; and the representation of crises. The duration of the projects will be between 24-36 months and funding per project will be up to a maximum of €1,500,000.

Companies of any nature and in any legal form, as well as non-business entities from the Research and Innovation (R&I) system, can apply to Call, either individually or in co-promotion:

  • Higher education institutions, their institutes and R&D units;
  • State or international laboratories based in Portugal;
  • Private non-profit institutions whose main purpose is R&D activities;
  • Other public and private non-profit institutions that carry out or participate in scientific research activities.

FCT is one of the national funding agencies involved in HERA’s Joint Research Programme Crisis which, through these initiatives, seeks to create opportunities for transnational, collaborative and humanities-oriented research that will result in new academic perspectives relevant to the major social, cultural and political challenges facing Europe and the world.
