Provisional Results of the Call for Exploratory Projects of the CMU Portugal Program

The provisional results of the Call for Exploratory Projects under the CMU Portugal Program, with 6 projects recommended for funding from a set of 36 eligible applications. The funding allocated to each project is between €47.000,00 and €70.000,00 resulting in a total investment of €354.493,04 from the FCT budget.

This call is designed to assist teams of researchers from the NSST entities, the CMU and industry partners in bootstrapping high-impact potential research activities of strategic relevance for the CMU Portugal Program. The projects recommended for funding will develop research on topics as diverse as: cognitive-behavioral internet intervention to detect, treat, and monitor anxiety and depression in breast cancer; synthesizing adaptive large-scale accelerated and distributed network functions; automatic evaluation of visualizations; value systems in digital health technologies; integrated photonic neuronal probes towards neuromorphic computing; mm-size stimulator implants.

The CMU Portugal Program is part of a network of international cooperation programs of Portugal with institutions from several countries under the goPORTUGAL initiative – Global Partnerships in Science and Technology, promoted by FCT.
