<3rd edition of the Mário Ruivo Prize – Ocean Generations
The Mário Ruivo Award challenged young people aged between 14 and 21 to create films that express the fundamental role of the ocean in human life. On November 16, National Sea Day, the winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held at 5pm at the Cinemateca Portuguesa.
Prizes will be awarded to the films that, in each of the categories Call, stand out for their merit and quality, as well as for their impact on raising awareness of the importance of the ocean.
This award pays tribute to the legacy of Professor Mário Ruivo, a personality of recognized scientific, political, diplomatic and cultural merit, a pioneer in the defense of the ocean and the launch of environmental issues in Portugal.
The FCT, together with the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere, the Mission Structure for the Extension of the Continental Shelf, the Cinemateca Portuguesa – Cinema Museum and the Directorate-General for Education, is part of the Organizing Committee for the Prize, which is coordinated by the Directorate-General for Maritime Policy.
