Statement by the ERC President on association of Switzerland to Horizon Europe
On behalf of the ERC Scientific Council, I welcome the good news about the Common Understanding announced by the European Commission and the Swiss authorities.
This Common Understanding should pave the way for Switzerland’s association to the EU Research and Innovation programme Horizon Europe.
Transitional arrangements will allow us to begin accepting applications from researchers based in Switzerland once again as from the calls under the ERC’s 2024 Work Programme.
I hope that an agreement on Switzerland’s full association to the programme can be found as quickly as possible, in order to allow researchers on all sides to make Europe stronger and more prosperous through their groundbreaking research.
