Countdown to Open Call 2024 for new proposals for COST actions
The countdown for the 2024 Open Call for new proposals for COST actions has officially begun and ends in six months, on October 23, 2024, at 12 noon (CEST).
COST – European Cooperation in Science and Technology funds transnational collaboration activities in a system of open-access, bottom-up networks of researchers in all scientific and technological fields. These networks, called COST Actions, enable advances in the development of scientific knowledge, helping to strengthen Europe as a leader in R&TD.
A COST action is an interdisciplinary research network that brings together researchers and innovators to investigate a topic for four years. These actions are open to all scientific and technological fields, including new and emerging ones. COST actions are alsobottom-up, emerging grassroots actions, which means that a network can be proposed based on one’s own interests or ideas.
Funding from a COST action covers the costs of networking activities and can be used to finance events, short-term scientific missions, training schools, communication activities and virtual networking tools.
If you want to turn your innovative ideas into reality, now is the perfect time to start creating a network proposal. Participants planning to submit a proposal for a COST Action will need to consult the guidelines and the Open Call Announcement available under Documents and Guidelines. COST promotes the integration and enrichment of the various scientific communities and maximizes national investment in R&TD in Europe. Portugal is one of COST’s 41 full members, and its national representation and coordination is ensured by FCT.
